Resident Involvement

We want tenants and leaseholders to get involved in making decisions that affect the management of council homes in Haringey and services we provide to residents. You can choose how to get involved and when, and we have involvement opportunities that suit everyone. We can also offer advice, support and training to help you and residents in your local area to get involved. Find out more in our Get Involved section.

You can attend Homes for Haringey board and committee meetings - they are open to the public. The agenda, past minutes and other papers for meetings are available five days in advance of each meeting on this website in our Board section. A paper copy is available on request from our Governance team.

To view all confirmed future meeting dates visit our Meetings and Events Calendar. Please contact our Governance team on 020 8489 1702 or email them at: if you are interested in attending a Board or Committee meeting.

Compliments, complaints and suggestions

If you want to give us feedback on a particular service then please go to our Compliments, complaints and suggestions section. You can also find out more about joining our Residents Complaints Panel which takes an independent look at any complaints that remain unresolved once they've been through our complaints procedure.

Customer surveys

We regularly carry out surveys to ask our customers for feedback about our services. We send, for example, a repair satisfaction survey to every resident who has had a repair done by us to help us improve our repairs service. We also enter all completed repairs satisfaction surveys into a monthly £100 prize draw.

We actively encourage feedback and continuously work to improve our services. Petitioning is one way that a group of residents can use if they are concerned about a service we provide or decision we are about to make. Petitions must be relevant to a matter or service that Homes for Haringey is responsible for or directly controlling. If you are in doubt if it's the Council or Homes for Haringey you should petition, then call us on 020 8489 4337.

Your petition should meet the following criteria:

  • Your petition must have a title and a clear explanatory statement.
  • Outline the action(s) the petitioners wish us to take.
  • Make sure you put the full name and contact details of the petition organiser.
  • Your petition should have the name, address and signature of every petitioner.
  • All petitions must contain a minimum of 50 signatures or be signed by at least 60% of the residents / individuals affected. For example, if a petition affects a block of 10 flats, at least 6 residents must sign it.
  • Make sure you petition us about something we can actually control.

Every petition represents a public document which we make available on our website as part of our Publication Scheme. Make sure all petitioners are aware of this.

Here is a Filesample paper petition (Word) you may wish to use. You can send your petition:

  • by scanning it and emailing it to or
  • by posting it to the Feedback Team, Homes for Haringey, 4th floor, 48 Station Road, London, N22 7TY.

Once the petition has been submitted to us it will be referred to the appropriate service for consideration. We will then send an acknowledgement to the petition organiser and let them know what we plan to do with the petition and when they can expect to hear from us again.
