Panels and groups

Scrutiny Panel

The Scrutiny Panel is an independent resident led body which was created to look in detail at the services we deliver and make recommendations to improve them.

The panel assesses our services in a variety of ways; from mystery shopping to in-depth service reviews. These investigations have provided invaluable feedback on the experience of our residents when they need to contact us and have led to changes which improve the service residents receive.

We are proud to say that the panel has won awards for their endeavours.

If you would be interested in finding out more about the panel or in applying to join please email residentscrutiny@homesforharingey.org

Resident Complaints Panel

The Resident Complaint Panel forms the third stage of our complaints process. They offer an independent assessment of the whole complaint. If a resident or leaseholder is unhappy with the outcome of their stage two complaint, they can meet with the panel to discuss their case.

The panel will listen to the complaint, and review all case notes and then do one of the following:

  • Recommend - the Panel can recommend a resolution for Homes for Haringey to carry out if the Resident Complaints Panel think they have failed in delivering a service

  • Refer - the Panel can refer the case to the Housing Ombudsman if they think there has been a service failure but the resident or Homes for Haringey have refused the Panel's recommendation;

  • Refuse - the Panel can reject the case if they feel that Homes for Haringey and Haringey Council have been reasonable and there is no need for any further local solution.

  • In addition to the above, they will highlight to Homes for Haringey the learning from these complaints; and suggest how to stop such a problem reoccurring.

If you would like information about the panel, or on how to join, please contact governance@homesforharingey.org
