Note 1: There is a separate procedure for processing applications from leaseholders who would like to install new windows and doors.

Please note:

  • Arrears - The applicant must have no arrears outstanding such as unpaid rent, service charges or Council Tax etc or any other breach of lease
  • Windows and doors - the leaseholder must replace all the windows and external doors if they wish to be exempt from landlord charges.
  • Homes for Haringey consent letter - A letter issued by Homes for Haringey's Home Ownership team and required for minor internal alterations.
  • Licence for Alterations - A formal legal document and required for major internal/external alterations or additions.
  • Deed of Variation - A formal legal document required where there is a change in the demised premises in the lease. Required where additional land is purchased or description of property changes (for example from one-bedroom flat to two-bedroom flat). This document is registered at the HM Land Registry
