Tenant owes £250 for unlawful clamp removal
A resident from North Tottenham has been fined £250 by Edmonton County Court for illegally removing a wheel clamp from his car.
Mr Nana Agyemang Luther of Whitbread Close, London, N17, was found guilty at Edmonton County Court on Wednesday 10th November following the court action brought by Wing Security.
The vehicle was clamped at Whitbread Close in April 2010 as there was no valid resident parking permit displayed.
Mr Luther threatened to remove the clamp and claimed he was out purchasing a permit at the time of the clamp. Despite alleging he had appealed to Haringey Council, he produced no evidence. The court ruled the vehicle had been correctly clamped and awarded a total of £250 in respect of the unpaid parking fee,the lost clamp and court costs.
Jackie Thomas, Executive Director of Housing Management, said: “This verdict is another stark warning that along with Wing Security, we will continue to take action against anyone parked without authorisation and removing clamps without permission.”
