Delivering services during the lockdown
Homes for Haringey’s Estates and Neighbourhood Services are continuing to deliver some projects during the third national lockdown.
Earlier this month, two new bike hangars were installed on Ferry Lane Estate opposite 1-15 Reedham Close and by the garage at 67 Kessock Close N17. The team responded to requests from residents on the estate regarding the lack of secure facilities to store their bikes. The bike spaces are in demand and have been filling up.
Neighbourhood Improvement Officer, Yvette Codrington said, “There has been a good demand for the bike hangar spaces as cycling becomes more popular. We continue to work with and listen to our residents to provide services in these difficult and unprecedented circumstances.”
Stephen McNally added that during the lockdown, our Intensive Cleaning teams have also been carrying out some vital works. The team have deep cleaned supported living sites and some of our estates where it was identified from walkarounds that intensive cleaning was required. Sites visited include Rheola Close, Lowry House, Markfield House and Broad Lane.
The teams painted have main entrance doors, washed the pathways/balconies and deep cleaned rear external stairs to get the estates looking spick and span
Stephen McNally continued: “We are pleased that we have been able to continue delivering our intensive services for residents during the lockdown in a safe way, as with everyone spending more time at home. It is important that the buildings and estates are well maintained.”
The Intensive Cleaning team are also sanitising the communal areas of supported living blocks where some of our vulnerable and older people reside to minimise the risks of infection transmission on door handles etc
The team are resident focussed and will assist/have assisted whenever they are called upon.
