Freedom of information

The Freedom of Information Act (FoIA) gives you the right to look at much information held by public organisations such as Homes for Haringey.

The information you want might already be publicly available:

Please check if information is available publicly before asking for it under FoIA.

If the information you want is not already available, you can make a Freedom of Information Request. You can ask for any information that a public authority (such as Homes for Haringey) holds about how and why we make our decisions, how we spend money and how the organisation works.

Where we are not able to provide the information requested, we will give reasons why.

Personal information is protected by the Data Protection Act, so if you (or someone acting on your behalf) wants to access your personal information, you/they must make a Subject Access Request. There may be a small charge for these requests.

How to make a Freedom of Information request

You must put your Freedom of Information request in writing:

Email our Feedback team at:

Or write to us at: Homes for Haringey, Feedback team, 48 Station Road, London, N22 7TY

Homes for Haringey will:

  • Acknowledge your request within two working days
  • Give you the information you requested, or the reasons why we can't, within 20 working days
  • Respond within 20 working days to complaints about the information we provided or our failure to provide it.

If we are not going to be able to meet this timescale, we will let you know how long it will take.

This is a service that we provide free of charge and only in exceptional circumstances will we look to charge for our administration costs. This will be charged within the allowances of the Act. We will, of course, let you know if this is such a case.

If you need advice about making a Freedom of Information request, please call our Feedback team on 020 8489 5611.
