Tangmere block, Broadwater Farm Estate

We know that Tangmere has a number of building issues and we want to work with the residents of Tangmere to identify solutions for the block.

Consultation

As part of the first stage of consultation, a survey was sent to every home on the estate in June to find out residents views on their home and what the future for the area should look like. We had useful conversations with residents over a six week period by door knocking, home visits and drop-in sessions held on Saturday, 14 June and 19 July 2014.

What happens next?

Haringey Council has commissioned Keegans Ltd to carry out a full building survey at Tangmere. This involves carrying out a detailed survey to your home and may require more than one visit. Keegans will write to you directly to arrange with you a convenient time to access your home to do the survey. This information, together with your feedback, will help provide the Council with a clearer understanding of the future requirements for Tangmere and its residents. If you have not provided access to Keegans to conduct the building survey yet, please call Keegans on 020 7199 0901 or Homes for Haringey's Asset Management team on 020 8489 1778 to arrange an appointment.

If you have any queries regarding this, please contact the Communities team on the contact details below.

Steering Group

A resident steering group, which will meet regularly, will work with Haringey Council and Homes for Haringey on the future of Tangmere block. The steering group will also:

  • work alongside Haringey Council to appoint an architect who will prepare improvement options for your area;
  • work with the Haringey Council to recruit and appoint an independent advisor, who can provide impartial, independent and factual information and advice to tenants and leaseholders for the journey ahead.

The first steering group interest meeting was held in October. There are still a number of vacant leaseholder steering group places, so if you are a leaseholder (of Tangmere Block) and would like to commit to being on the group, please contact the Communities team on 020 8489 5321 or email myquestion@homesforharingey.org.

Keeping you up to date

We will provide clear and concise information about what’s happening at each stage to residents.

A newsletter will be sent to every tenant and leaseholder of Tangmere to help keep residents updated on how Haringey Council and Homes for Haringey are working with your community to improve the homes and area, what the next steps are and how you can be involved. Please contact the Communities team if you require a translated or large print copy of a newsletter.
