Trolley service for elderly and vulnerable tenants
Wednesday 2 December 2009
Homes for Haringey tenants struggling to dispose of heavy items can now request a special stair-climber trolley for bringing bulky items down the stairs.
Homes for Haringey has invested in 20 of the industrial trolleys to assist elderly and vulnerable tenants living on estates across the borough. The organisation responsible for decent homes, repairs maintenance and housing management to council tenants and leaseholders, manages over 200 estates in the borough.

Due to the three wheels on either side of the trolley, bulky items can be easily moved, stair by stair. It also features heavy duty wheels, a tubular steel frame and a maximum loading capacity of 153kg.
Residents wishing to make use of this service should contact their Estate Services Manager in the first instance. Phone numbers can also be found on the local notice boards.
Peter Purdie, Head of Estate Services, said: “These trolleys have really helped the day to day work of estate service officers by taking the hard work out of lifting heavy objects. They also fully comply with health and safety lifting regulations.”
