equalities and diversity

Haringey is one of the most diverse boroughs in the UK. We value and celebrate the diversity that exists among our residents, our workforce and our board members.

Equality and diversity is core to what we do

We believe all our customers should have equal access to services and that no customer or employee should experience discrimination because of who they are. We value the diversity of our customers and staff and know that a diverse workforce helps us to deliver the best services to our customers

The Single Equalities Scheme

In 2009 we consulted staff and residents to develop a single equalities scheme. The scheme sets out how we demonstrate our commitment to promoting equality for residents, staff and partners with the aim to make our services responsive to the needs of all our residents and to maintain a diverse workforce to meet the housing needs of our community. Our progress in implementing our equality and diversity actions are recorded in the scheme action plan. We've updated the Scheme in 2011 to address the Equality Act 2010.
