Taking care of your property

If you live in a council estate, block of flats or maisonette with lifts and other shared facilities, we will provide you with Estate Services Officers. Their job is to:

  • look after your estate
  • provide a caretaking service
  • clean and maintain lifts and shared areas
  • maintain security and safety measures
  • deal with emergencies.

Our Estate Services Officers work from Monday to Friday. On large estates which have lifts, mobile teams carry out essential cleaning tasks at weekends.

To find the name of your Estate Services Manager and when your block will be cleaned please check your estate notice board.

We have set standards about how and when we will take care of your property. You can download these standards below:

We are responsible for maintaining the grounds around your council property. Our maintenance work requires us to:

  • maintain and cut the grass all year round (weather permitting)
  • maintain shrub beds and rose beds once a year
  • apply weed spray three times a year
  • inspect play areas (every three months) with a 24 hour response for emergency repairs.
