Special Saturday drop in for Haringey Council tenants

Thursday 20 March 2008

Homes for Haringey is hosting a special Saturday drop in surgery at Wood Green Library to provide information to local tenants and discuss their housing issues.

The informal event on March 29 has been organised so residents can take a break from Saturday shopping and discuss their queries over coffee and cake.

“This event is particularly aimed at those with busy lifestyles who may not have time to deal with their housing issues during the week", says Mike Jones, chair of the board. “We want to take every opportunity to speak with our tenants and provide them with a great service.”

It is also to engage with local tenants who don't speak English as their first language. Albanian, Arabic, Greek, Kurdish, Somali and Turkish interpreters will be available on the day.

Entertainment for children will be provided by face painters in the crèche area while tenants get answers on everything from housing benefits, decent homes and online repairs reporting, to bidding for properties under the Home Connections scheme.

There will also be the opportunity to win £30 worth of shopping vouchers.
