Homes for Haringey wins national WOW! award

Homes for Haringey is celebrating after it won the top award in the ‘Serving the Community: Best Organisation’ category at the National WOW awards 2011.
The announcement was made at a gala dinner at the Stevenage Arts and Leisure Centre yesterday (November 8th).
The prestigious awards are the only national awards for outstanding customer service based on customer nominations. They are now the biggest award ceremony of its type.
Judges of the WOW! Awards were dazzled by customer stories for Homes for Haringey and the contribution the organisation makes to the local community.
Other organisations vying for the award included City of Edinburgh Council, Durham Constabulary and City University London.
Paul Bridge, Chief Executive, said: “This is a special award as it is based on feedback from our residents. We know that excellent housing services can make a huge difference to people’s lives and it is great to be recognised for the contribution we make each day in Haringey.”
Background information
The WOW! Awards were started in 1999 to raise standards of Customer Service throughout all our industries. It is an Employee Recognition Scheme that highlights excellent customer services. The WOW team work closely with organisations throughout to ensure they know when they are doing something right!
In 2010/11 Homes for Haringey received over 191 WOW awards from its customers.
