Searching for a star on Haringey Estates

Homes for Haringey are searching for undiscovered ‘X Factor’ style talent by running a music competition for young people living on its estates.
The ‘Beat That’ competition is open to all budding singers, rappers and musicians aged between 11 and 21 and living in a council property in Haringey. All applicants need to do is send in their own original music on a CD or tape for a chance to win by the deadline date of January 28 2008.
First prize is a day in a production studio where the winner will see their track produced in a professional 24 track studio, two Nano iPods will be given away as the runner up prizes.

Homes for Haringey was issued two stars following its Audit Commission inspection in August. It is responsible for services to approx 16,700 council and 4,500 leasehold homes including;
- Repairs and maintenance
- Tenancy and estate management
- Housing management of supported housing
- Rent collection and arrears management
- Leasehold management
- Resident involvement
The Homes for Haringey Board is made up of five independent experts, five council nominees and six local residents. It has overall responsibility on how the organisation is run and how improvements are delivered under the Management Agreement with the Council.
