Residents to be consulted on digital TV aerials
Friday 23 October 2009
Homes for Haringey will consult with residents, block by block, on the type of digital TV aerial to be installed.
To be ready for the switchover to digital TV all blocks of flats must be fitted with aerials capable of receiving digital signals.
After listening to residents’ comments, the Council has asked Homes for Haringey, the organisation that manages council housing in the borough, to review the types of systems available and the costs associated with each. The Council will consider the findings in the report and agree on the options residents will get to choose from.
Leaseholders in these blocks are required, under the terms of their lease, to pay their share of the installation cost for their block. The Council is considering the feasibility of putting a cap on the amount charged to leaseholders and how this may be applied to those who have already had the work done. Once this decision is made, leaseholders will be informed. Payment options, including a three-year interest-free plan, will apply.
