Residents review Your Voice Counts

Friday 16 October 2009

Residents from across the borough gave up their Saturday morning to review improvements to Homes for Haringey’s resident agreement, Your Voice Counts.

The booklet, launched in March 2007, sets out how staff from Homes for Haringey, Board members and councillors work together to provide services that meet local residents’ needs. It also outlines resident involvement opportunities - from becoming an estate inspector or board member to setting up a residents’ association.

Homes for Haringey’s Senior Resident Involvement Officer, Sheryl Hendrickson, led the review held at the Civic Centre. The three hour session was attended by 10 residents who reviewed a number of areas including:

  • Style and content of the resident involvement agreement
  • How to measure changes as a result of resident involvement
  • Evaluating how well the organisation involves residents in all service areas

Sheryl said: “It was an informative session with many suggestions put forward. We took this opportunity to work with residents and take a fresh look at the Agreement, chapter by chapter. It remains an exciting work in progress.”
