Pampering session for senior Haringey residents
Wednesday 4 August 2010
Over 40 senior residents from two supported housing schemes in Tottenham have got together for an afternoon of massages, manicures and makeovers.
Organised by residents of Sophia House and Talbot Close Association of Residents (STAR), the Pampering Day - including head and shoulder massage, refreshing facials, an assorted barbecue and music - attracted both men and women and provided a day to remember.

Sophia House resident, Verlyn Cowell, 71, received a facial and said she felt and looked like she had been on a holiday. She added; “It was a fantastic afternoon and great to see how healthy and radiant everyone looked. It was lovely to have so many treats and a wonderful barbecue. The day was really about getting people out of their flats for a good get together, having wonderful treatments and letting them know more about the Residents’ Association.”
This was the first pampering day event organised by the Association. The event received funded from the Making the Difference programme run by Neighbourhood Management and was also supported by a Rewarding Residents grant donated by Homes for Haringey.

Residents from both schemes (comprising in total of 57 properties, including studio, one and two bedroomed flats) attended the event held at Sophia House on Antill Road, N15, last Thursday, 29 July.
