Money Saving Tips for Haringey Tenants
Friday 1 October 2010
In the run up to Christmas, Homes for Haringey is offering free money advice and tips for budget conscious residents, leaseholders and staff.
The workshops are being delivered by the Income Collection and Resident Involvement team, and include professional advice from Money Made Clear guides produced by the Consumer Financial Education Body and The Money Secret book.
During October, face to face advice workshops will take place over three sessions covering; how to manage priority debts, credit card usage, shopping habits and learning how to save as well as an overview of the income collection arrears procedure. Participants are recommended to attend each session.
Head of Income Collection, Francine Williams, said:“We are keen to offer practical and free support to residents and staff who may feel under pressure due to the state of their finances. These sessions will leave participants feeling more informed and in control of their budgets.”
Residents may also be able to claim for travel, childcare and carers’ costs for attending the training sessions. For more details and to book, contact the Resident Involvement team on 020 8489 4463 or email resident.involvement@homesforharingey.org
Money Matters workshops take place on 6, 13 and 20 October at the Commerce Road Community Centre, Commerce Road, Wood Green, N22, between 6.30pm and 9.30pm.
