Making it even easier to report a repair
Monday 18 August 2008
Homes for Haringey carries out about 60,000 general repairs every year. We know that council tenants and leaseholders want us to keep their home in a good state of repair so continuing to improve our repairs service is one of our top priorities.
We asked residents how we could make this service better. As a result of their comments we set up a dedicated repairs call centre and introduced new services:
- Extended opening hours: you can call to report a repair until 8pm every weekday and from 8am to 1pm on Saturdays.
- Technical expertise on hand: specialist repairs staff at the call centre help diagnose customers’ repairs problems when they are reported so we can get the job done right on the first visit.
- Alternative phone number: freephone numbers aren’t free if you call from a mobile phone so we introduced an alternative local number (see below).
We’re keen to listen to what customers have to say about our services and their ideas for improvement. Last year, almost 4,000 residents completed our repairs survey: 91% were satisfied with the work done. We’ve implemented customers’ suggestions and hope to score even higher this year.
