Homes for Haringey's repairs service gets even better!
Friday 13 February 2009
Homes for Haringey’s repairs service continues to score highly with construction industry experts.
An independent assessment of the two depots at Ashley Road and Lordship Lane by the Considerate Constructors scheme in December awarded the service 34.5 out of a possible total of 40 points. This compares to 33 points in a similar inspection the year before.
The service achieved 4.5 points (out of 5) in five of the eight categories* and a score of 4 in the remaining three.
A 4-point score or above is classified as ‘measures taken in excess of compliance’. It indicates that Homes for Haringey operates to a far higher standard than the stipulated regulations.
The Considerate Constructors scheme recognises the highest levels of consideration and care shown by construction company sites throughout the UK towards local people, the general public, the environment and site staff. It aims to assist and encourage those working in the borough to operate in a safe and considerate manner, with due regard to local residents and the environment.
Bob Watts, Homes for Haringey’s Executive Director of Repairs, said: “We believe it is not enough just to meet minimum standards, but to go way beyond that. We take great care to ensure that we operate to the highest standard both at the depots and when working in people’s homes. I am delighted that this high score reflects the lengths we go to and congratulate everyone in the team for their professionalism and caring approach.”
*The eight categories relate to the following observations: Considerate, Environment, Cleanliness, A Good Neighbour, Respectful, Safe, Responsible, Accountable.
