Haringey estates get Fresh Clean

Tuesday 5 January 2010

Estate Services Officers are using a new all round cleaning agent, Fresh Clean, to ensure communal areas in Haringey estate blocks smell as good as Rose, Citrus and Lavender and remain sparking clean.

Homes for Haringey which manages over 200 housing estates across Haringey, is using the fragrant deodorising powder formula mainly to clean communal areas including entrance ways, lifts, lobbies, staircases and landings.

Following a review of cleaning products in March 2008, Fresh Clean has replaced most of the cleaning products now used on Haringey estates. It costs only a quarter of the price of the old product and by using one product for multiple uses, the organisation has made significant savings including recycling costs.

Estate Services Officers are also using Fresh Clean in corridors, chute rooms and bin chambers. The savings have been reinvested in estate services equipment and initiatives to tackle dumping and anti-social behaviour.

Peter Purdie, Head of Estate Services, said: “We are really pleased with the product. The handy sized tubs mean improved storage and handling as we no longer have tons of liquid chemicals lying around. We only need to use one tub of Fresh Clean which equates to 200 trigger bottles. Staff prefer it and using just one product improves our health and safety measures overall.”
