Free training courses for Haringey residents

A range of free training courses are on offer to Homes for Haringey tenants and leaseholders.
The housing management organisation – responsible for delivering a £200m decent home refurbishment programme - regularly runs vocational day and evening courses for local residents wanting to refresh and improve their skills.
Courses available range from Fundraising Skills to an Introduction to Computers. Following successful completion, a certificate of attendance is also awarded to the candidate.
Training is delivered by officers from the Resident Involvement team. Senior Resident Involvement Officer, Sheryl Hendrickson said: “These short enjoyable courses demonstrate our ongoing commitment to providing residents with free training to build on their existing skills and knowledge.”
In addition eligible candidates will get travel, childcare and carers’ costs reimbursed.Other courses include:
- Assertiveness Skills
- Producing a Community Newsletter
- Organising Events
- Managing Conflict
- Minutes and Agendas
- Chairing skills
The next set of courses will run between July and September 2010.
