Interested in helping to deliver improved housing in Haringey?
Homes for Haringey is currently seeking six committed and enthusiastic individuals to join the Board as resident Board members.
There are four tenant vacancies (elected by tenants), 1 leaseholder vacancy (elected by leaseholders) and 1 supported housing tenant vacancy (elected by supported housing tenants).
Anyone interested in standing must nominate themselves no later than Monday, 26 July 2010.
This is a voluntary role requiring a commitment of three years and approximately one evening a month of time. All Board members are entitled to reasonable expenses for carrying out the role. The successful candidates will receive full training and join five independent members and five councillors that sit on the Board.
From August 16 voting packs will be issued and sent to all Council tenants and leaseholders. This is an opportunity for Council residents to influence the future of housing services in the borough by voting in the elections via post, website or text message. Voting closes on the 9 September 2010.
All Haringey tenants and leaseholders aged over 18 are entitled to stand and vote in the election. To meet the criteria, the residents’ full name must appear on the tenancy or leasehold agreement. Residents wishing to stand for the elections must have no rent or service charge arrears on their account.

The results will be announced and the new resident Board members will take their place on the Board at the Annual General Meeting on 27 September.
