Homes for Haringey hosts Aspirational Forum for women
Tuesday 26 January 2010
Over 20 women attended a Women’s Forum organised by Homes for Haringey’s Resident Involvement team at the Civic Centre yesterday. Those who attended were invited to receive a rejuvenating free head and shoulder massage as well as housing, health and nutrition tips and financial advice from experts.
The event was designed to explore what women want from Homes for Haringey now and in the future.

Senior Resident Involvement officer, Sheryl Hendrickson gave a presentation on ‘Aspirations’ for the organisation whilst ‘Feedback manager’ Bernadette Kennedy outlined how to improve the service provided by Homes for Haringey by way of complaints, compliments and suggestions.
Local external organisations including NHS Haringey and the Citizens Advice Bureau were also on hand to give professional advice to the women, some of whom were assisted by Somalian, Greek and Turkish interpreters.
Visitor Georgina Michael, from White Hart Lane, said; “It’s wonderful, I’ve met some nice people and been treated well. There should be more forums, more often. Everything was lovely, especially the massage. The information staff provided was useful and it was great to have interpreters here to help.”
Feedback from the aspirations questionnaires will now be reviewed by the Resident Involvement team before setting a new date for the next forum.
