rights and responsibilities
the Tenants' Charter
As a tenant, it is very important to know what you are responsible for, as well as what we (Homes for Haringey) are responsible for.
To make sure you are clear about this, we publish a useful document called the Tenants’ Charter, which you can download by clicking the link below. The Charter is a key part of our strategy in keeping you informed, so that you can get involved.
It also explains:
- what you need to do as a tenant
- the services and standards we need to provide you with.
leaving your property
You need to give us four weeks notice if you intend to end your tenancy and leave the property. If you leave the property in good condition and clear of rubbish and your possessions, you may qualify for a small grant.
It is your responsibility to keep your property occupied and secure. If we believe that you have left the property or are not using it as your only or main home we will take action to repossess it.
For more information about empty properties or leaving your property, you can contact your local Customer Services Centre.
