parking on estates
Parking congestion has become a problem on council estates, so Haringey Council introduced the estate car parking scheme, which is now run by Homes for Haringey. You can see which estates are already a part of the scheme as they are clearly indicated with notice boards at every entrance.
Other parking restrictions may also apply, these will be indicated by signs or road markings.

How do you benefit?
You can benefit from the scheme if you are all of the following:
- a council estate resident
- on an estate which forms part of the scheme
- in possession of a valid resident’s parking permit
- displaying your valid parking permit on your vehicle
- displaying a valid tax disc on your vehicle.
If you are all of the above, you get parking priority between 8am and 6pm Monday to Saturday. To apply for a permit or find out more information please contact your local Customer Services Centre.
Back to the topExceptions to the rule
Because estates are all different, priority parking hours may be different too, so we will consult tenants and find alternative hours to suit the majority. We also take into account the needs and design of individual estates.
There are additional restrictions for estates near Tottenham Hotspur Football Stadium when it is being used for events.
Back to the topVisitor parking scheme
Residents told us that they wanted visitors' parking permits so that their visitors could also use parking spaces. In response to these requests we introduced a pilot scheme for visitor parking permits in the Wood Green area.
Following the success of this pilot scheme and other consultations we rolled out visitor's parking permits across the borough in three phases.
- Phase one went live in November 2007 and included South Tottenham and the Chesnut Estate. Download a list of estates included in phase one
. - Phase two went live in December 2007 and included North Tottenham (excluding Chesnut Estate) Download a list of estates included in phase two

- Phase three went live in February 2008 and included the west of the borough
These permits are available to all tenants, leaseholders and freeholders living on the participating estates.
