This section contains information of interest to leaseholders who want to know about the different options available for paying service charge bills, the different methods that can be used to make payment, and the implications of not paying.
Payment methods
There are various ways that we have made available for you to pay your charges.

Online Services
You can pay by logging onto our website and following the simple online instructions.
This is a quick and user friendly way to pay, and you can use it whenever you want.
Benefits of paying online:
- pay any time, any place
- no more queues
- saves paper and helps the environment
- safe and secure.
Useful Tips:
Under Step 1:
- ‘I would like to pay’, select ‘LBH Invoice (inc Lease Charges)’ to pay service charge invoices.
- The reference is the 10-digit number which is on your invoice and starts ‘18'
Pay over the phone
You can pay by calling Haringey Council’s automated telephone payment service on 0845 070 1414.
You will need a touchtone telephone to use this service. You can pay with a credit or debit card by phoning the number above.
Benefits of paying using the automated telephone payment service:
- pay any time, any place
- no more queues
- saves paper and helps the environment
Useful Tips:
When prompted:
- Choose ‘7’ on your phone keypad ‘To pay Haringey Invoices’
- You will be asked for a 10-digit account number. This is the number which is on your invoice and starts ‘18’
Telephone or internet banking with your bank
To use one of these options, you will need to give your bank the following information:
- The 10-digit invoice number shown on the invoice
- Council bank account details, which are – Account 61117521, Sort Code 08-90-37
- Council bank account name, which is London Borough of Haringey.
Haringey Council is still the freeholder; Homes for Haringey manages services day to day, so you should still make any payments to Haringey Council.

You can pay your service charges directly from your bank account.

If you pay by direct debit or standing order we will make a one-off payment of £10.00 to your service charge account to thank you for paying your service charges this way.
Benefits of paying by direct debit:
- you don’t have to remember to pay every month
- you don’t have to worry about forgetting a payment if you are ill or on holiday
- we will update your direct debit every year and let you know before we amend it.

By post
You can post your cheque along with the detachable bank giro credit slip at the bottom of the invoice to the address below. Please make your cheque payable to ‘Haringey Council’ and write your service charge account number and leasehold address on the back.
Haringey Council is still the freeholder; Homes for Haringey manages services day to day, so you should still make any payments to Haringey Council.

You can pay at a bank by using the credit transfer form printed on your invoice.
Note that your bank may charge you for this.

Note that the post office will charge you for using the girobank service.

Unfortunately we cannot help you if you are having trouble paying your service charges. However, if you are sick, unemployed or disabled, it is likely you will qualify for financial support under the government’s benefit system.
Please apply to your local Benefits Agency or get advice from your local citizens advice bureau.
Please note that if you qualify for help, you will still be responsible for paying your service charges.
