communicating and consulting with leaseholders
This section contains information of interest to leaseholders who want to get involved in or are involved in decision-making in housing policy.
We believe that all residents should have a say in how we provide our services and we are always working to provide a wide range of ways for residents to get involved. It is important to us that we provide you with a high quality service in line with what you want. We are always keen to find out what leaseholders want from their housing service. There are various ways that you can get involved in our decision making, either as an individual or as a member of a group.
Leaseholders' Forum
The Leaseholders’ Forum has been set up as a borough-wide consultative body to promote leaseholder interests and discuss and review policies associated with leasehold management. The Forum meets every year and all Council leaseholders receive an invitation to attend.
The main purpose of the Forum is for you to let us know what you think about our services and how we can improve them. The Forum receives reports and recommendations from the Leasehold Panel so that it can discuss every aspect of policy about service charges and the housing management issues which affect leaseholders.
The Forum also holds workshops to discuss matters in more detail. Subjects which have been covered so far include: management fees and administration charges, service standards, methods of consultation, the decent homes programme and the services we provide to council estates.
You can look at the minutes of previous forum meetings and workshops by clicking the link below.

Leasehold Panel
The leasehold panel has been set up in consultation with the Haringey Leaseholders’ Association so we can consult regularly on day-to-day leasehold matters. The panel meets at least four times a year.
The leasehold panel is one of a number of panels which makes recommendations to the Board of Homes for Haringey. It has a key role in representing leaseholders’ interests.
The panel consists of members nominated for a fixed period, after which they have to be nominated for a further term. Any leaseholder from Haringey can attend to observe the proceedings.
You can download papers for upcoming meetings and look at the minutes from previous meetings by clicking the link below.
If there is anything you would like the panel to consider, or if you would like to find out more about the leasehold panel, please contact:

Your newsletter
September 2006 saw the last issue of Leaseholder News, the quarterly newsletter aimed specifically at leaseholders. We now have a space in Homes Zone, the magazine for council tenants and leaseholders. This decision was made after consultation with leaseholders and the Leasehold Panel.
