Decent homes work underway
The decent homes work started across the borough in April 2008. Improvements will include new roofs and rewiring as well as making homes more energy efficient by installing double glazed windows and insulation. Some outdated kitchens and bathrooms will also be replaced.
If your home is getting work done, the contractor will be in touch with you nearer the time. They will arrange a meeting before the project starts to discuss what they will be doing and how long it is likely to take. Once they are on site, their resident liaison officers will be on hand day to day to answer your questions.
If you are contacted about a survey to your home please allow the surveyor to visit. Surveys are essential to find out exactly what works are needed to individual homes. Anyone visiting you will always carry an identification card.
Once work is planned to your home, you will receive a copy of Decent Homes - A guide for residents which sets out exactly what you can expect during the work.
